Hello and Welcome to the home of the Cathay Williams Regiment.
The CWR was created in part to honor and recognize Cathay Williams, the only African-American female to serve as a Buffalo Soldiers from 1866-1868 with the 38th Infantry. In addition, the CWR was created to unite all women motorcycle enthusiasts for recreation, education, mutual support, recognition, and to promote a positive image of motorcycling.
We would like to continue our recognition of Cathay Williams by inviting all female Buffalo Soldiers (Members and Associates) to fill-out and submit the "Female Buffalo Soldier" form. We will compile the information and dedicate a page on this website to all female Buffalo Soldiers.
Thank you and Safe Riding,
Arnita Conerly
President, Cathay Williams Regiment
Motorcycle Tip: Raising A Fallen Bike
To pick up a relatively light bike, simply use your legs (not your back), take hold of the side of the handlebar, and lift. Be prepared to put the kick stand down once the bike is upright.
To pick up a heavier motorcycle requires a different technique. With your back to the bike, take hold of the handlebar with your right hand and the frame with your left, then simply walk the bike up with your legs.
